Run your stokvel like a proper business.

KEZUMA tracks contributions, enforces your group's rules and releases a payout only when the recipient's future commitment is fully covered.
No torn notebooks, no WhatsApp disputes.

Free for groups up to 10 members · No card required

KEZUMA never holds your money.

Your group's funds stay in your own bank account, under your own treasurer's control. KEZUMA is the ledger and the rulebook — we record what happened and enforce the group's rules, but we never touch a single rand.

  • ✓ No accounts. No deposits. No custody.
  • ✓ We can't freeze, move, or lose your money — because we never receive it.
  • ✓ Even if KEZUMA disappeared tomorrow, every rand would still be safe in your bank.
How Secure Rotation™ works

Every rotation is protected — in five steps.

No maths required. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you contribute, to the moment someone gets paid.

  1. 1

    You contribute

Your normal contribution builds your own security, cycle by cycle.

  2. 2

    Your turn arrives

You become eligible for your rotation payout.

  3. 3

    KEZUMA checks your future commitment

Your remaining obligation to the group must be covered before you can be paid.

  4. 4

    Security is combined

Your own security + approved guarantees + the group pool work together to cover it.

  5. 5

    Your payout unlocks

Once the required coverage is reached, the rotation becomes eligible and the payout is released.

For treasurers

You record the payment. KEZUMA handles the rest.

Your members pay into the group's bank account — by EFT, cash, or transfer. When you receive the money, you mark it as paid in KEZUMA. That's it.

  1. 1

    Member sees what's owed

Each member gets their own dashboard showing the amount due, the security portion, the pool portion and the group's banking details.

  2. 2

They pay into the group's bank account

Cash, EFT, bank transfer — whatever the group uses. KEZUMA never touches the money.

  3. 3

    You record it as paid

Select the contribution, enter the amount (split between main, security and pool) and save. It takes seconds.

  4. 4

    Everyone's records update

The member's balance, the group's ledger, the security pool and the audit trail — all updated automatically.

Works with cash

Not every member pays by bank. KEZUMA doesn't care how the money arrived — only that you record it.

No more WhatsApp screenshots

The reference field lets you note anything you need — so "I paid, I swear" disputes disappear.

Split automatically

Every payment is split into main contribution, personal security and group pool — no separate maths.

KEZUMA is the ledger, not the bank. You keep control of the money — we keep the records straight.

Common questions

Is my money held on KEZUMA?

No — and that's the whole point.

Your group's money stays in your own bank account, under your own treasurer's control. KEZUMA is the ledger and the rulebook — we record what happened, enforce the group's rules and give every member the same transparent view. But we never receive, hold, move, or invest a single rand.

That means even if KEZUMA disappeared tomorrow, your group's money would still be sitting safely in your own bank account. There is no KEZUMA wallet to fund, no balance to trust us with, no custody risk to worry about.

How do contributions get recorded?

Your group's money never touches KEZUMA. Members pay into the group's own bank account — by cash, EFT, or transfer — and the treasurer records the payment in KEZUMA.

Recording a payment takes seconds: select the contribution, enter the amount, split it between the main contribution, personal security and group pool, add an optional reference and save. The member's balance, the group's ledger and the security pool all update automatically.

Why this approach? Most stokvels still handle cash and informal transfers — and the treasurer is usually the person who knows exactly who paid and when. KEZUMA doesn't try to replace that. We just make sure every payment is tracked, split correctly and visible to everyone.

What is Secure Rotation™?

When it's your turn to receive the payout, KEZUMA checks that your remaining future contributions are fully secured. This protects every member from early recipients disappearing. Once secured, your rotation unlocks. Once you keep contributing, your security progressively releases.

What is Personal Security?

Personal Security is a small portion of every contribution that belongs to you and is set aside for your future obligation. It's not a fee and it's not lost — it's your own money, held back as a guarantee that you'll continue contributing even after you've received your payout.

For example, on a R1,000 contribution with 10% Personal Security, R100 is locked into your security balance each cycle. That balance grows over time and is what partially covers your future commitment when it's your turn to be paid.

When the rotation completes and your future commitments are fully settled, your Personal Security is released back to you.

What is the Group Pool?

The Group Pool is a shared safety net that every member contributes to — typically around 5% of each contribution. Unlike Personal Security, this money belongs to the group as a whole, not to any single member.

Its purpose is to protect the group when someone doesn't pay. If a member's Personal Security and guarantors can't fully cover a shortfall, the Group Pool is the final backstop that keeps the rotation from collapsing.

Think of it as the group's emergency fund: it grows quietly in the background, doesn't get paid out with rotations and is only touched when the group needs to absorb a default. Any remaining balance at the end of a cycle can be redistributed by group vote or carried forward.

What if someone doesn't pay?

Their personal security and the guarantees backing them absorb the shortfall first. The group security pool is a second layer. The audit trail documents everything.

What does it cost?

Free for groups up to 10 members. R149/month for larger groups with advanced features.
